Lath

Oak, Chesnut and Scots Pine riven lath available. Please contact us with your requirements.

Hair & Fibre

Traditionally, animal hair was added to plaster backing coats to provide tensile strength and combat shrinkage. We also stock modern synthetic fibres which can be used in place of animal hair where exact replication is not essential.

Hessian

Used to protect new lime work from exposure to winds and/or direct sunlight which can cause drying, leading to cracking and loss of durability. Damp hessian provides ideal shelter allowing the new work to cure at a slower, controlled rate.

Other protective materials such as bubble wrap and carpet underlay are available where protection from colder conditions is a requirement.

Pigments

A selection of natural pigments are available for colouring limewash or colour-matching mortars.
